After 3 first date reschedules, I was finally able to meet Elizabeth for coffee at Well Red. In my mind it was perfect- a beautiful afternoon in Auburn at the best coffee shop in town. I was both surprised and impressed by her football knowledge, and we even connected over our love of rival teams- Tennessee and Alabama. We talked extensively and shared similar views on everything we talked about. A second date was inevitable and that was the spark that has led us to now.

Elizabeth would later tell me that she had to drive back home prior to the date because I told her I would be late, and she did not want to wait that long for me. I take her patience as a sign of fate for us. Her amazing qualities would be on display frequently across every experience. From her thoughtful gifts for small accomplishments at work to sacrificing study time to entertain a new meal I was preparing, I grew to love her so deeply in Auburn.

Of course, Swayze and Gumbo are important to our story. The boys were in the picture that prompted me to text Elizabeth, and I was in love with them after meeting them on our 4th date. We took them on adventures and started our bond as a family. I believe it is true that a dog’s personality reflects its owner, and the boys are angels with such pure souls.

We both knew we were dating to marry and committed to each other that we would be strong through the distance as I moved to Philadelphia. Traveling is important to us both. We have been fortunate to see many places, and seeing Elizabeth light up at the scenery brings me the utmost joy!

Taking her to Camp Thomas to propose was the perfect scenario. I was overjoyed to include her beloved grandparents in the planning! Seeing Elizabeth be surrounded by so much love in the time since our engagement exemplifies her amazing personality! I love her so much and cannot wait to live out our future together!
